Wozena & Associates, PC was established as a full service CPA firm to serve the tax, accounting and consulting needs of individuals and small businesses in East Lansing, Okemos, Holt, Haslett, Grand Ledge, and throughout the Lansing area. About Our Staff

Susan L. Wozena, CPA

Susan L. Wozena is the owner and founder of Wozena & Associates, PC. Susan founded the firm in 2002 and specializes in small business accounting, income tax and consulting.

Susan received her bachelor’s degree from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She began practice in public accounting in 1990 and earned her CPA certificate in 1992 in California. Susan has practiced with small to regional firms in California, North Carolina, and Missouri and has been licensed in the state of Michigan since 1998.

Since beginning her career in California, Susan has focused her attention on the needs of small businesses. She enjoys small business clients because she takes a very hands-on approach and becomes a vital member of her clients’ organizations. Susan’s business clients include, but are not limited to, the service, retail, financial, healthcare and restaurant industries.

Susan is currently serving as the treasurer of the Spartan Swim Club and is the former treasurer of the Meridian Area Business Association and the Girl Scouts of Michigan Capital Council where she also served as the Chair of the Finance Committee.

In addition, Susan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants.

Susan is active in the Okemos community where she lives with her husband and daughter.

Brenda B. Gordon

Brenda joined Wozena & Associates, PC as a Staff Accountant in December, 2006. Brenda brings to the firm over 20 years of accounting and tax experience for businesses and individuals. Brenda assists clients with all of their monthly bookkeeping and accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, as well as payroll processing needs. She has experience utilizing both Peachtree and QuickBooks accounting software programs. Brenda also takes a very hands-on approach with our small businesses and goes out of her way to take care of every client need.

Brenda’s career has taken her from Texas to Maryland before coming to Michigan in 1993. Brenda and her husband Howard have four children and live in East Lansing.

 

Terri L. Anderson

Terri joined Wozena & Associates, PC as an Accounting Assistant in November 2007. Terri possesses a Bachelor of Science degree and brings many years of business experience to the firm including office administration, human resources, insurance and sales & marketing. In addition, Terri has over six years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, quarterly taxes and financial statement preparation using Peachtree and QuickBooks.

Terri currently assists clients with payroll processing, bank reconciliation and prepares individual income tax returns. She enjoys working with people and looks forward to assisting clients with their accounting needs.

Terri resides in Okemos with her husband and three children.
